What is MH CET Law 2024?
The Maharashtra Common Entrance Test for LLB (MH CET Law) is a state-level test organized by Maharashtra’s State CET Cell for admission to LLB degrees provided at participating law colleges. LLB students are shortlisted for admission to 10,920 seats in the 5-year LLB programme and roughly 16,420 seats in the 3-year LLB programme through the entrance test.

The MHCET legal eligibility requirements 2024 are set by the Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell for 5-year LLB programmes provided by various law universities. The MHCET legislation 2024 eligibility standards outline the minimum requirements that must be met before submitting an application.
- The applicant must have completed 10+2 or an equivalent exam (including a 3-year diploma in engineering).
- Candidates from Maharashtra must score a minimum of 45 per cent in the general category, 40 per cent in the SC/ST category, and 42 per cent in the VJ / DT / NT(A) / NT / O.B.C./ S.B.C. category.
- Candidates who have completed senior secondary school or received a first-degree diploma through online education or correspondence are also eligible to apply.

Legal Aptitude and Legal Reasoning
This portion will assess the candidate’s interest in law, legal acumen, and problem-solving skills. Legal prepositions will be used to construct questions, as well as a set of facts to which the prepositions must be applied. Some prepositions may or may not be true in reality. Aspirants must take these prepositions as true and answer the questions with well-supported inferences.
General Knowledge with Current Affairs
History (ancient, mediaeval, and modern), geography, general science, economics, civics, and current events from the previous year are among the themes covered. The purpose of the topic is to measure one’s understanding of recent events and global awareness.
Logical and Analytical Reasoning
The purpose of the topic is to assess the candidate’s ability to recognise patterns, and logical connections, and correct illogical arguments. Wide comparisons, concluding arguments, reaching well-supported conclusions, reasoning by analogy, and applying concepts or rules will all be covered. The topic is also used to assess students’ ability to comprehend the structure, and connection, and develop logical inferences about the structures. It entails deductive reasoning from a collection of assertions and rules or principles that define the connection between people, objects, or events.
English
This section will have questions on topics such as vocabulary (Synonyms, Antonyms, Analogies etc.) Professionalism (Idioms and Phrases, One-word Substitution, Sentence Improvement and rearrangement, fill in the blanks etc) Errors in English Usage (Common errors, Spotting errors, inappropriate usage of words, spelling mistakes etc.) Comprehension of English
Mathematical Aptitude
This component is used to assess candidates’ numerical abilities. Profit and loss, speed and distance, time and work, algebra, average, and Venn diagrams will be among the themes covered in the mathematics problems, which will be set at the 10th-grade level.
