What is ILICAT Exam?
ILICAT stands for Indian Law Institute Common Admission test which is a National level law entrance exam. It is conducted by the Indian Law Institute(ILI) which is deemed a university and situated in New Delhi. ILICAT entrance exam is conducted every year to offer admission to one-year LLM programmes. In this entrance exam, both types of questions that are objective as well as subjective are asked. Candidates who qualify for ILICAT get a chance to appear in the viva-voice round. After qualifying in both rounds, aspirants can secure their admission to the law Institute.

ILICAT 2023 Eligibility criteria
If any of the aspirants want to take admitted through ILICAT 2023, first they have to fulfil the following ILICAT eligibility criteria 2023.
For One Year LLM program
- Aspirants must have 3 year LLB degree or a 5-year Integrated LLB degree from any university/institute recognised by the BCI(Bar Council of India) with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.
- Aspirants must have a Law degree from a foreign university with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks or equivalent grade as per the Indian university guidelines association.
- 5% marks relaxation for SC/ST/PH category candidates that is those candidates must have secured a minimum of 45% marks in the qualifying exam.
- 10% marks relaxation for Kashmiri migrants that is those candidates must have secured a minimum of 40% aggregate marks in the qualifying exam.
- Appearing aspirants of the qualifying exam are also eligible to take ILICAT 2023.
ILICAT 2023 Admission procedure
To get admission through ILI CAT 2023, Aspirants have to go through the following instructions but first, read the information bulletin or prospectus 2023.
ILI CAT Application Form
First, Candidates have to fill out the online application form by visiting the official website. The application form will be released soon. Candidates have to fill in all the required details like personal, Communication, Academic details etc and then upload the scanned documents which are required after that pay the application fee via net banking, credit card and debit card.
ILI CAT Correction window
After closing the online application, the Correction window will open for a very short duration for all those aspirants who had made the mistake or spelling mistake in the application form accidentally, Those have this last chance to rectify the mistake through the correction window. Aspirants can change only some details not complete application form details.
ILI CAT Admit card
Admit card is one of the important documents which is required at any stage of admission such as at the time of exam, counselling etc. ILI CAT admits card will release approx before 2 weeks before the entrance exam. To download the admit card, Candidates have to visit the official website and log in to their portal by entering the required details. Don’t forget to take a printout of admit card.
ILI CAT Appear in the exam
Aspirants should have to reach the examination centre according to reporting time which is available on the admit card. Don’t forget to carry your admit card in the exam hall with one valid identity proof such as an Aadhaar card, pan card, Driving License, Voter identity card etc and successfully appear in the entrance exam.
ILI CAT Exam Answer key
After the exam, A provisional ILI CAT Answer key will be released by the university containing answers to all the questions asked in the examination. If any answer has incorrect or wrong in the ICI LAT answer key then the Aspirants who have successfully given the exam can challenge the answer key through email before the last date. After collecting the challenging response, The final answer key will be released only on the official website.
ILI CAT Result
Now the time Result will be declared by the respective authority through online mode. ILI CAT result contains some personal details along with obtained and overall marks. To check and download the ILI CAT result, Candidates will have to visit the result portal and then log in it and download the result.
ILI CAT Counselling Procedure
Candidates who have qualified in the ILI CAT exam will be eligible to participate in ILI CAT counselling which is conducted by the respective authority in online mode. ILI CAT counselling will be conducted in multiple rounds. In counselling, documents will be verified by the authority and then Candidates have to fill and locked the choices according to their preference and then pay ILI CAT counselling fees.
ILICAT 2023 Exam Pattern
Before starting the preparation, It is most important for an aspirant to be fully aware of the ILICAT exam pattern 2023 which is following.
- ILICAT 2023 will be conducted in offline mode or pen and paper-based.
- The medium of the entrance exam will be English
- Objective, as well as subjective type questions, will be asked in the entrance exam.
- The whole ILICAT exam will be 180 marks.
- The duration of ILICAT will be 150 minutes or 02:30 hrs.
- The whole paper consists of a total of 144 questions
- There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks except for subjective questions.
