Candidates seeking to pursue professions in design are admitted to the Indian Institute of Crafts and Design. The Rajasthan ILD Skills University-affiliated Indian Institute of Crafts & Design (IICD) administers the IICD entrance test on the basis of which applicants are granted admission to its UG & PG level design programmes (RISU). Every year, the design admission test is often held in the month of June. This year, the institute will only admit students based on their SOP, submitted portfolios, & online interviews.

Under the authority of the Army Welfare Education Society, AIFD (Army Institute of Fashion & Design) was founded in Bangalore in 2004. (AWES). Every year, the college administers WAT (Written Admission Test) in order to admit students to its Design programs. The duration of both programs is 4 years or 8-semester. Both courses are affiliated with Bengaluru North University. But as a result of COVID-19, the AIFD has started administering the online admission exam (OAT) in 2021. This university has implemented NEP (New Education Policy). The candidate has multiple exit points. The following contains the exit point.

IIT Bombay offers an M.design (Master of Design) course for 2 years. The respective authority of IIT Bombay does not conduct any entrance exam for the M.design course admission. However, It takes admission on the merit list of the CEED entrance exam. A candidate has to use CEED login credentials for IIT Bombay M.Des application form. IIT Bombay has a total of 5 specializations in M.Des and A candidate has to fill out a separate application form for more than one stream. In IIT Bombay M.Des program, There is an approx intake of 80 and the fee is approx RS. 1,60,000/- for a full course.

Delhi Technical University (DTU) offers a 2-year postgraduate Master of Design (M.Des) program. DTU does not conduct any entrance exam for admission for the same. However, DTU takes admission to the M.Design course on the basis of CEED (Common Entrance Examination for Design). DTU M.Des have an intake of more than 70. Candidate can complete their master of design program from DTU under Rs. 4,50,000/-. For admission to DTU M.Design program, a candidate has to go through CEED and a personal interview round.

DTU offers a Bachelor of Design program with a duration of 04 years. However, DTU does not conduct its own entrance examination for admission to the B.Design program. It will take admission on the basis of the merit score of the UCEED (Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design) Entrance Exam. There is a total of 100+ seats out of which 85% are reserved for Delhi and 15% for outside Delhi students. DTU offers two types of specializations in it.

IP University offers 4 yrs B.Design program with various specializations. Also, IPU provides a direct 2nd-year entry in the B.Des program through lateral entry only to diploma holders. IPU CET B.Des Code is 600 whereas for IPU CET B.Des LE is 613. Admission to 4 yrs B.Design program of IPU will be based on the merit list of UCEED / NIDDAT / NIFT Aptitude Exam / JEE Part – II / NATA etc and if the seats remain vacant then IPU provides admission on behalf of IPU CET B.Des entrance exam. In lateral entry admission, Aspirants have to appear in IPU LEET (IPU Lateral Entry Entrance Exam).
