CAT 2024 – CAT Entrance Exam registration for 2024 will start in July 2024. IIM Calcutta will hold the CAT 2024. The registration cost for CAT 2024 has been raised to INR 1150 for SC, ST, & PwD aspirants and INR 2300 for GN, EWS, & NC-OBC aspirants. What is CAT Exam?
CAT or Common Admission Test is a national-level entrance exam or gateway to various IIMs as well as over 1000+ B-Schools in India. CAT exam 2024 is conducted by IIM Bangalore online mode and this exam is conducted once a year only in the English language. Earlier it was conducted by IIM Bangalore in 2016. The purpose of conducting CAT is for admissions into top business schools.

CAT 2024 Eligibility Criteria
Here is given the eligibility criteria for CAT exam 2024, Before applying for CAT Exam, candidates have to check the eligibility criteria or if aspirants are not eligible then don’t fill application form because the application form will be rejected at any stage.
Age criteria
- There is no lower or upper age limit.
Education Qualifications
- Candidates must have passed the graduation or equivalent exam from any recognized university or Institute.
- A 50% Mark or equivalent CGPA is required in the qualifying exam for general/OBC/EWS category candidates.
- A 45% mark is required for all those candidates who belong to SC/ST/PwD category.
- Final-year candidates are also eligible to appear in the CAT exam.
- OR
- Aspirants must have a professional degree of CA/CS/ICWA with the required percentage.

CAT 2024 Admission Procedure
Before taking the admission through CAT exam, aspirants have to read the CAT Information Bulletin. To know about CAT admission procedure, go through the following detail.
First aspirants have to fill out the online CAT application form which will be available on the official website. And after that correction window will be open for a very short duration to all those candidates who made the mistake at the time of filling out the online CAT exam application form. after that CAT Admit card will be released by the respective authority on the official website.
After that aspirants have to appear in the exam according to their scheduled date and time. And after that result will be declared with obtained marks. & after that, The shortlisted candidates will be informed through email and SMS on their registered Email id & Mobile and will have to go through three stages of the selection process i.e. written ability test (WAT), group discussion (GD), and personal interviews (PI).

Registration
The first stage of CAT exam application form is CAT registration for which aspirants have to visit the official website and then registered themselves by entering their name, email id, date of birth, mobile number, and nationality. And after that verify the account through OTP. After successful verification CAT ID and password will be sent to the aspirant’s mail.
Application form
Aspirants have to log in to their portal by using CAT ID & password and complete their application form. In CAT application form, aspirants have to enter personal details, academic details, work experience, and 6 preferred exam City centres. And after that upload the scan copy of the required documents like passport size photograph and signature. And then select your IIM preference.
Fee payment
And the last step is payment aspirants have to pay CAT application form fee via net banking, and credit card debit card. Category-wise CAT exam application form fees are given below.

CAT 2024 correction window
After the closing of the CAT application form, the correction window will be opened for some time. For all those students who made mistakes while filling out the CAT exam application form by mistake. Through the CAT correction window, the candidate can make changes only in some places and not in the entire form.

CAT 2024 Mock Test
The official CAT Mock test will be available on the CAT official website tentatively in the last week of October 2024. The purpose of conducting the CAT mock test is to make the candidates familiar with the exam pattern of CAT. With the help of mock tests, aspirants can learn a lot like exactly how to answer, navigate between sections, make strategies, etc.

CAT 2024 Admit card
Admit cards for CAT exam will be released online on the official website approx 2 weeks before the exam. To download the admit card, candidates have to visit the official website and log in to their portal by entering their username and password and then click on the link for admit card.
After that candidates have to take a printout of admit card and paste the same into admit card which is uploaded by the candidates at the time of filling out the application form. Before reaching the exam centre, candidates have to read all the instructions and follow them. Admit card contains the date, time, and venue of the exam centre.
CAT 2024 Exam pattern
Candidates should know the exam pattern CAT which is given below.
- The exam will be online on a computer.
- Objective type, as well as TITA (type in the answer) questions, are asked in the exam.
- A total of 100 questions will be asked in the exam.
- The duration of the exam will be 120 minutes or 2 hours.
- While the exam will be of 300 Mark
- 3 marks are awarded for every correct answer.
- 1 Mark’s of negative marking.
- The exam will be available only in the English language.

CAT 2024 appeared in the exam
Aspirants will have to successfully appear in the exam for which they will have to reach the examination centre on the reporting time which is available on the admit card. Don’t forget to carry your admit card as well as at least one original identity proof at the examination centre.
CAT 2024 answer key
Within one week of the entrance exam CAT exam answer key will be released on the CAT official website by the respective authorities. With the help of CAT Answer, Key aspirants can guess their approximate marks. If the answer is wrong in CAT answer key then the candidate has the right to claim it via mail.
CAT Exam 2024 Result
The result of CAT exam will be declared online on the official website. To download the result, candidates need to visit the official website and log in to the portal by entering the required details like user name and password and then click on the link of the result after that candidates have to take a printout of the result of CAT exam for future reference.
The result contains the information of candidates along with obtained marks. Selected candidates will receive mail from the respective authorities for an interview and a specific date and time will be allotted to candidates for Interviews. If candidates are not attending the interview on the given schedule then their interview or admission will be cancelled.
CAT 2024 Counselling
Candidates are shortlisted on the basis of CAT Result 2024 and then they have to go through a Group discussion, a Written ability test, and a personal interview. After all the rounds, IIM will release the merit list of shortlisted candidates which depends on many factors whose factors are in the following table. Shortlisted candidates have to visit the allotted IIM or Institute with their required documents and complete the other formalities.
