CLAT 2021 – Exam will be held on 23 July 2021 and Last date to apply was 13 June 2021. What is CLAT Exam?

CLAT (Common Law Admission Test) is a centralized national level entrance examination which is conducted by consortium of national law universities to admission in various UG (undergraduate) and PG (postgraduate) courses of Law.

CLAT 2021 Eligibility Criteria

Here is given all the eligibility criteria of CLAT 2021. To appear in the CLAT exam, candidate’s have to fulfil the below requirements.

Eligibility criteria for undergraduate low programme

Age criteria

  • There is no maximum age limit.

Education Qualification

  • Candidate’s must have passed 10+2 level of education from any recognized board.
  • Minimum 45% Mark’s is required in qualifying exam for general/ OBC/ PwD/ NRI/ PIO/ OCI.
  • Minimum 40% Mark’s is required in qualifying exam in case of candidate’s belonging to SC/ST categories.
  • Aspirant’s who are appear in qualifying exam in March/April 2021 are also eligible to appear in CLAT 2021.

Note – In case of tie, the candidate’s will be selected who have more Mark’s in legal aptitude section and second priority, higher age candidate’s.

Eligibility criteria for post graduate law programme

Age Criteria

  • There is no upper age limit.

Education Qualification

  • Candidate’s must have done graduation in LLB or equivalent examination from any recognized university.
  • Minimum 50% is required for general, OBC/ PwD/ NRI/ PIO/ OCI Categories.
  • Minimum 45% is required for ST/ SC categories.

Note – In case of tie, preference will be given to higher age candidate’s and then computerized draw of lots.

CLAT 2021 Admission Procedure

First, candidate’s have to registered yourself and fill online application form which is filled online on the official website of CLAT. After successful registration, candidate’s have to wait for their admit card which is released on the official website approx 2 week before the exam. Candidate’s have to download their admit card and appear in the exam then the result will be declared and after result, candidate’s have to fill the choices by login their portal and after that candidate’s will get a call for counselling and then candidate’s have to attend the counselling and pay the fees and then admission will be done.

CLAT 2021 Application form

Application form will be released official in the month of January. Candidate’s have to visit to the official website then click on the CLAT 2021. If you are new on the website then click on don’t have an account or if you are already registered then login your portal by entering mobile number and password. For new registration, candidate’s have to registered your self by entering required details. After successful registration, candidate’s directly go to the Login page. Candidate have to fill the entire application form.

First, Candidate have to fill the personal details and upload their passport size photograph and signature and fill other required details then Fill Communication details and after that fill Qualification details and then select 3 exam city preference and then fill the reservation details and at last candidate have to pay the application form fee with the help of credit card, debit card and net banking. If candidate select the option of previous Question at the time of payment then they have to pay extra Rs 500/-.

CLAT 2021 Admit card

Admit card will be released approx 2 week before the entrance exam. Candidate can download their admit card from the official website of CLAT. To download the admit card, Candidate have to visit to the official website and then login their portal by entering mobile no and password and then click on the link of admit card. Don’t forget to take print out of it and make 2 or more copies of it for future reference. Candidate have to carry admit card at the exam centers . Date, Time and venue are written on the admit card. If candidate face any issue during downloading the admit card then they should contact to the help desk of CLAT.

CLAT 2021 Exam Pattern

Before appear in the exam, Candidate know about the exam pattern which is given below.

  • Exam will be offline on OMR sheet.
  • Total 150 Questions will be asked in the exam.
  • Duration of exam will be 2 hour.
  • Multiple choice question will be asked in the exam.
  • Each Question will carry equal exam.
  • For every correct Question, 1 marks is awarded.
  • 0.25 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.
  • Question are asked from these section
    • English Language
    • Current Affairs, including General Knowledge
    • Legal Reasoning
    • Logical Reasoning
    • Quantitative Techniques

CLAT 2021 Syllabus

In the entrance exam of CLAT, Question will be asked from 5 section. All Question are asked in the exam from the level of 10+2. Level of exam will be easy to moderate. Syllabus is given below.

  • English Language including comprehension –  In this section, Question will be covered from these topics like the Seen and unseen passage, Summarise the passage etc.
  • Current Affairs with General Knowledge – In this section, Question will be covered from these topics like static general knowledge, Arts and culture as well as Historical events , national & international current affairs and much more.
  • Mathematics –  It include all topic of elementary mathematics along with ratio and proportion, basic algebra as well as mensuration and statistical estimation etc
  • Legal Aptitude/Reasoning –  It  include topics related to study of law, rules and principles to various fact situation  and problem solving ability etc
  • Logical Reasoning –  It contain topic such as Draw relationships and analogies, identify contradictions and equivalence, and assess the effectiveness of arguments etc.

CLAT 2021 Result

Result will be declared approx 2 week after the entrance exam. Candidate can download their result from the official website of CLAT. To download the result, Candidate have to visit to the official website of CLAT and login their portal by entering required mobile number and password and after that click on the link of result. Result will contain obtained marks and some personal details like name, Gender, date of birth etc. If candidate face any issue during downloading the result then they can contact to the help desk and take solution from them. After result, Candidate have to login their portal and set the preference.

CLAT 2021 Counselling Procedure

After result declaration, Candidate have to login their portal by entering login details and fill the preferences of college then Rank list will be released by the respective authority and after that Candidate will get a call for counselling and they will provide you specific time for counselling and Candidate have to go to college and verify their documents and pay the 50,000 fees. maximum 3 to 4 rank list are released. If candidate want to upgrade their seat then they can do and the money will be send to respective college.

CLAT 2021 Document Required

To take admission through CLAT exam, Candidate have all the documents in original as well as 2 set of photocopies. List is given below.

  • BPL certificate if required
