The following are the eligibility criteria for PMSS CAPF AR 2024.

For CAPFs & Assam Rifles

The following are the requirements for PMSS For Central Armed Police Forces.

  • This scholarship is open to wards/widows of CAPFs and AR members who died while on duty in a harness or during an election, wards of members who became disabled while serving in the government, and wards of members who received gallantry awards.
  • The wards/widows of active-duty, retired, and AR personnel (staff below the rank of officer) are eligible.
  • Candidates who are enrolled in first-year professional degree programmes in engineering, medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, BBA, BCA, B. Pharma, B.SC (nursing, agriculture, etc.), MBA, MCA, etc.
  • The applicant’s Minimum Entry Qualification (MEQ), which consists of a 10+2/Diploma/Graduation or equivalent, must have at least 60% of the required marks.
  • It is a requirement for applicants seeking under the renewal category to pass each following academic year of the professional courses they are pursuing with at least a 50% grade point average.
  • If an applicant delays submitting their application for renewal of their scholarship, they will only be given a one-year grace period.

For State Police Forces

Dependent children of State Police employees who die in terrorist or Naxal assaults are eligible under this category if they meet the following conditions.

  • Candidates pursuing their first professional degree in the fields of engineering, medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, BBA, BCA, B. Pharma, B. SC (nursing, agriculture, etc.), MBA, MCA, etc.
  • In the event of a new application, the applicant must have earned at least 60% of the required points in the Minimum Entry Qualification (MEQ), which is 10+2/Diploma/Graduation or an equivalent. It is a requirement for applicants seeking under the renewal category to receive at least a 50% grade in each succeeding academic year of the professional courses they are pursuing.
  • If an applicant delays submitting their application for renewal of their scholarship, they will only be given a one-year grace period.

Renewal eligibility

  • If you already get benefits from the plan and want to keep your scholarship for the upcoming academic year, you must pass each semester with a grade of at least 50%.

Prime Minister Scholarship Scheme Process

The following is the step-by-step process to apply PMSS.

  • Applicants must register their applications online using the National Scholarship Portal.
  • The authorised educational institutions will investigate and verify the applications that applicants have submitted in order to confirm the applications.
  • Following university verification, the CAPFs, AR, and state governments will further verify the applications in accordance with the applicant’s categorization.
  • A merit list will be developed and posted on NSP website once students have been shortlisted based on their merit and other qualifying requirements.
  • The appropriate officials (MHA from PMO, R and W Directorate) would start the process of approving the scholarship monies when the merit list is finalised.
  • For each chosen ward, a unique file called the “Payment File” will be created.
  • The chosen applicants’ bank accounts will receive the scholarship payment.
  • Private letters from the CAPFs, AR, or WARB will be sent to the Honourable Prime Minister’s desk in the official language.

How To Apply for Prime Minister’s Scholarship Scheme:

The following procedures can be used by qualified applicants to apply for the scholarship:

  • Go to the National Scholarship Portal site and select ‘New Registration’.
  • Carefully read the instructions, choose the endeavour, and click “Continue.”
  • Choose the candidate’s state of residence, scholarship type, scheme type, and gender, and provide your name, birthdate, phone number, and email address.
  • The bank information (Bank name, IFSC Code, Account Number) must be provided
  • Choose the ‘Register’ button after selecting Aadhaar or a bank account number as your means of identification.
  • An OTP will be created when the cellphone number has been validated.
  • Fill out the form and then log in using your OTP.
  • A password along with the application ID will be generated. Please remember that for future use.
