What is MAT?
The Management Aptitude Test (MAT) Exam is one of India’s famous national MBA entrance examinations. For MBA/PGDM Admission 2024, more than 600 MBA/PGDM institutions are accepting MAT February examination 2024 scores. AIMA clarified in their announcement that there are 600+ B-schools that accept MAT score. In addition to applying for the MAT Feb 2024 exam, students must apply to a college that accepts MAT scores.
MAT 2024 February Exam: Testing Modes & Key Differences
February MAT 2024 is conducted in three different testing modes by the respective authority:
- Internet-Based Test (IBT): You may take the IBT MAT from the comfort of your own home.
- PBT (Paper-Based Test): At test centres, the MAT 2024 exam is performed using paper and pen.
- CBT (Computer-Based Test): At exam centres, the online computer-based MAT 2024 will be conducted.
Aspirants who take two IBT examinations will have the option of choosing an extra two Management Institutes to send their scores to, in addition to the present option of choosing five Management Institutes, for a total of seven Management Institutes. The MAT scoring pattern is one of a kind. The scorecard shows a scaled score out of 800 points rather than raw scores of 160 or 200.
While each correct answer receives a +1 mark, each incorrect response receives a -0.25 point penalty. The merit score is derived on the basis of only four parts, and the Indian and Global Environment scores are individually shown but not taken into consideration when calculating the merit or percentile in the scorecard.

MAT 2024 Eligibility Criteria
To appear in MAT, fulfil the following eligibility criteria.
- Aspirants must have a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from a recognised university. Aspirants with a professional degree, such as a CA, CS, or ICWA, are also qualified to take the MAT test.
Note: Appearing aspirants of the qualifying exam are also eligible.

- In the MAT question paper, there are 200 objective-type questions in the form of MCQs.

MAT 2024 Admit Card

MAT 2024 Result
Aspirants can view their MAT result cum scorecard by entering their MAT roll number & registration number. The MAT 2024 results will include personal information, section-by-section scores, a composite score, and a MAT percentile. The MAT scorecard is accepted by a number of top Indian business schools. Non-participating universities may also use the MAT score to determine applicant admissions on the basis of specified cut-off grades and other admission characteristics. MAT 2024 Selection Procedure
Group Discussion (GD), Personal Interview (PI), and Written Ability Tests are commonly used in the MAT selection process (WAT). Aspirants will be chosen first based on their MAT scores. Selected candidates will be invited to participate in selection rounds at the various participating institutes. Final admission will be granted based on merit in the selection process rounds. Each of the participating institutes has its own method of selection. It is important to note that AIMA has no part in the selection of applicants for MBA admission through MAT.
MAT 2024 Cut Off
The AIMA does not disclose a specific cutoff for the MAT test. As a result, several participating institutes announce their own MAT cutoffs, based on which they award candidates admission. MAT participating universities use a minimum percentile to screen students. This minimal percentile is known as the MAT cut-off. Almost all of the best B-schools consistently release above 90 %ile on the MAT. The MAT test cutoff is determined by a variety of criteria, including the difficulty level of the question paper, the number of candidates who appeared during the exam, and the total number of seats available at the institute.
