What is BCECE?
Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination or BCECE is a state-level entrance test. Those who pass this test will be allowed to enrol in Engineering, Pharmacy, & Agricultural studies at various Bihar institutions. There are two phases to the BCEC Exam: stage 1 and stage 2. Before proceeding to the second stage, the aspirants must first clear the first stage.
The candidate must pass both phases in order to be admitted to the offered courses. It genuinely gives you a professional degree, which is why many people apply to take the test and find the ideal career for them in the future.

BCECE 2023 Eligibility Criteria
The criteria for taking the BCECE entrance test are listed below. To decide if they are eligible to take the BCECE 2023 entrance examination, candidates should carefully read the following points.
General Criteria
- Applicants must be Indian nationals who reside in the state of Bihar.
- There is no minimum age requirement to take the BCECE Exam for Engineering or Pharmacy studies.
- Applicants for the Health Sciences programme must be 17 years old by December 2023, while those applying for the Agriculture programme, age must be 16 by August 2023.
- Aspirants who have been granted admission must pass a medical exam.
Qualifying Eligibility
- For Engineering Courses: Aspirants must have received a minimum of 45 per cent (40 per cent for SC & ST aspirants) in Mathematics and Physics at the 10+2 level, with one subject from Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, or a vocational topic as a required subject (Technical).
- For Pharmacy Courses: Candidates must have received a minimum of 45 per cent (40 per cent for SC & ST aspirants) in class 12th grade, with Physics & Chemistry as compulsory courses, as well as one of the Mathematics or Biology subjects.
Note: Students who are doing their final year of high school are generally able to apply, but they must provide documentation of their qualifications at the time of counselling or acceptance.
BCECE 2023 Exam Pattern
The examination will be divided into two stages: Stage 1 and Stage 2. Here is given below the BCECE Exam Pattern so that aspirants become familiar with the pattern.
- The exam will be administered entirely online.
- There will be multiple-choice questions on the test (MCQs).
- Each accurate answer will receive 4 points, while each negative response will receive 1 point.
- It will be published in both English and Hindi. There will be a total of 4 sections in the exam.
Stage 1
Each section contains 50 Questions and the duration will be 90 Minutes. Physics and Chemistry are the two mandatory topics that candidates must complete. Math and biology are considered elective disciplines in engineering and medical programmes.
Stage 2
Each Section contains 100 Questions and the duration will be 150 Minutes. The final merit list will be prepared for admission based on stage 2.
