What is JEE Main?

JEE Main 2024 Eligibility Criteria

Nationality
- Both Indian and international aspirants are welcome to apply.
International Applicants
- To be eligible for JEE Main, aspirants must achieve the required marks/percentage from an AIU-accredited board.
Age Limit
- There is no upper as well as lower age limit for applying to JEE Main 2024.
Attempt Limit
- There will be no limit on how many times you can try.
JEE Advanced
- JAB has decided to provide students who were unable to take JEE Advanced 2020 because to Covid-19 another chance. Such candidates would not be required to re-qualify by taking the JEE Main 2024 test and will be eligible to sit for the JEE Advanced 2024 exam immediately.
Educational Qualifications
- Applicants must have completed the 12th grade or its equivalent from a recognised board or university in 2020, or 2021.
- Students who will be taking their 12th-grade exams in the 2024 session are also eligible to apply. JEE Main 2024 is not open to students who completed their 12th grade in 2018 or before, or who will take the exam in 2024 or later.
- Aspirants will now simply require passing certificates in class 12th, regardless of their grades (applicable only for the 2024 session).
- Aspirants for B.E/ B.Tech should have completed at least five subjects in high school, with Physics and Mathematics as required subjects and Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, or some other technical vocational subject as an option.
- Candidates must pass an intermediate level with Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry as required topics for B.Arch.
- Aspirants for B.Plan must have completed 12th grade with Mathematics as a required subject.
- Those who have a diploma are also allowed to apply. These students are only eligible to apply to IITs.
State of Eligibility
- At the time of registration, aspirants will be required to fill out the state code of eligibility.
- Applicants must select the state code of eligibility from which they passed their 12th-grade examination.
- The native or home place of the appearing applicant will have no bearing on the state code of eligibility.
- The state code of eligibility for Indian nationals who completed their 12th grade at a foreign institution will be decided based on the permanent address of India listed on their passport.
JEE Main 2024 Exam Pattern
Aspirants should read the JEE Main Exam Pattern mentioned below to learn more about the entrance examination.
- The online CBT format will be used for JEE Main. The JEE Main Paper II (B.Arch) drawing test is conducted in pen and paper mode.
- The paper will be completed in 3 hours. In the event of a PWD candidate with a 40% disability, one hour is added to the time allotted to complete the paper.
- In addition to Hindi, English, and Gujarati, students can take the exam in Assamese, Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
- JEE Main Paper – I is held for B.E/B.Tech students. JEE Main Paper – 2 and JEE Main Paper – 3 are held for admission to B.Arch and B.Plan. The questions in the paper are all objective in nature. There are also questions in which answers must be given in numerical values, as per the most recent modifications in the JEE Main pattern. The JEE Main Paper 2 drawing test, on the other hand, will be subjective.
- JEE Main Paper -1 (B.E/ B.Tech) contains 90 questions; JEE Main Paper -2 (B.Arch) contains 82 questions, and JEE Main Paper -3 (B.Plan) contains 105 questions.
- The JEE Main Paper 1 (B.E/B.Tech) will have a total of 300 points. JEE Main Papers 2 and 3 for B.Arch/ B.Plan will be worth a total of 400 points.
- Four points are awarded for each right answer. One mark is deducted for each incorrect response.

Wherever possible, the total number of questions to be tried (Physics – 25, Chemistry – 25, and Mathematics – 25) shall remain the same.
JEE Main 2024 Syllabus
Candidates can check the JEE Main Syllabus online at the website. The syllabus is primarily composed of themes from the 11th and 12th grades of the CBSE curriculum. Questions from diverse disciplines in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics will ask in the JEE Main exam – I (B.E/B.Tech).
The problems in the JEE Main Paper – II (B.Arch) Syllabus will come from a variety of themes in the Aptitude, Mathematics, and Drawing areas. Officials have made no changes to the syllabus, however, there will be some alterations to the exam structure. The questions in the JEE Main Paper – III (B.Plan) Syllabus will cover a wide range of disciplines, including aptitude, mathematics, and planning. JEE Main 2024 Preparation Tips

JEE Main 2024 Application Form
The online application procedure for JEE Main 2024 has begun for the April and May sessions (link is provided above).
Aspirants can register for JEE Main on the National Testing Agency’s website. Aspirants should use a valid email address and phone number to register. The authority will send all of the necessary information. The Aspirants can apply for one or more sessions at the same time and pay the appropriate application cost. Aspirants can choose the language of the question paper when filling out the application form; however, it cannot be altered later. Registration, application form filling, image uploading, application fee payment, and application form printing are all steps in the application process.
After completing the application procedure, aspirants will receive an SMS or email confirming the successful submission of the form to their registered mobile number or email address. Applicants can apply for the April session exam until July 8, 2024, and the May session exam until July 20, 2024. From July 6, 2024, the application correction window will be open as well. Aspirants have been urged to print the application form and fee payment evidence after completing the application procedure for future reference.
JEE Main 2024 Application Fee
JEE Main Application Fees can be paid in a variety of ways, including online. Students can pay their fees through net banking, debit or credit cards, PAYTM, or UPI. The application cost cannot be paid in an offline way. If an applicant does not wish to participate in the session for which an application fee has been paid, the officials may return the amount.

JEE Main 2024 Correction
With the application form, the application correction facility has been launched. While applying for JEE Main, students have the ability to make changes to the details. Candidates can make changes to their application form when the correction window is open.
Corrections in Online Application Forms, such as the candidate’s name, contact/address information, category, PwD status, educational qualification information, date of birth, exam city preference, and so on, will be considered final. Under no circumstances will any changes to these details be considered.
In addition to image rectification, students can update numerous details given in the application form. Candidates have a one-time opportunity to make changes to the information entered in the application. To correct their JEE Main application, aspirants must pay an extra cost.
JEE Main 2024 Admit Card
The admit card for JEE Main 2024 will be available before an exam. By inputting their login information, students can download their hall tickets. Candidates will also receive notification of their admit card by their registered email address or phone number.
Students should be aware that no slot booking can be done to assign exam centres, times, dates, or shifts. The candidates will be assigned these at random by NTA. When the admit card is available for download, students will be able to see these facts. Aspirants can obtain an admit card for the April session by visiting the NTA website. Aspirants must read the entire information on the admit card. If any detail on the admission card has to be corrected, contact the officials as soon as possible before the exam day.
JEE Main 2024 Result
The JEE Main Result for the March session exam will release after the exam. The results for the April/May session will announce in August 2024. By inputting their date of birth and roll number, students will be able to check their results online. The raw marks acquired by the student in the entrance test can be used to determine the scores.
JEE Main 2024 Answer Key
Institutional answer keys for the April session exam have been issued. It has been made available for the March session of exams. After the entrance exam, the National Testing Agency (NTA) released the JEE Main Answer key (provisional) along with the question papers. The answer key is available in PDF format on the internet. Following the release of the answer key, applicants will be able to challenge it if it contains any errors. For making challenges, students must pay a charge and present proof. The final answer key has been issued after the authority has determined that the challenge is correct.
JEE Main 2024 Scorecard
After the results are announced, the JEE Main 2024 scorecard will be accessible for download online. The scorecard is a required document that shows the candidate’s performance in the JEE Main exam. Also included are information such as the candidate’s name, roll number, category, parent’s name, state code of eligibility, All India Rank, marks earned, category-wise rank, qualifying status, and so on.
