NEST 2024 – NEST 2024 will be held for admission to the National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER) in Bhubaneswar and the University of Mumbai-Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CEBS) in Mumbai for the 5-year Integrated M.Sc Program.
Candidates who are interested and eligible can apply for the entrance exam online starting in January 2024. In the month of June, the test will also be offered in an online format. What is NEST?
The National Admission Screening Test (NEST) is a national entrance exam jointly administered by NISER, Bhubaneshwar, and UM-DAE CEBS Mumbai. NEST is a mandatory entrance test for those seeking admission to NISER, Bhubaneswar, and UM-DAE CEBS, Mumbai’s Integrated MSc Program. Qualified students will be accepted into the Integrated MSc Programs of both participating institutions after passing this exam.
Applicants who pass the NEST 2024 entrance exam will be able to enrol in 5-year Integrated M.Sc. programmes in various subjects. The official organizations will hold the NEST 2024 entrance tests in a maximum of 59 countries across India for eligible students to take part in and gain admission. Courses offered by Nest 2024 are M.Sc. in Biological, Chemical, Mathematical, Physical, Computer, and Environmental Sciences over five years.

NEST 2024 Important Dates

NEST 2024 Eligibility Criteria
Before applying for the entrance exam, candidates must ensure that they are eligible for NEST 2024. The following is a list of criteria.
- Aspirants who were born on or after August 1, 2003 are eligible to take the exam and 5 years of age relaxation for reserved category candidates of SC/ST/PWD.
- Aspirants must have completed their class 12th or an equivalent in either 2020 or 2024 as well as appearing candidates are also eligible.
- 60% minimum marks are required in the qualifying exam and 55% minimum marks are required for SC/ST/PWD reserved candidates.
NEST 2024 Exam Pattern
The candidates will learn everything they need to know about the NEST 2024 Exam Pattern, including the exam mode, duration, type of questions, marking scheme, total marks, total questions, and much more.
- The aspirants must take the admission exam online, which is a computer-based test.
- The applicants will be given 03:30 hours to complete the entire question paper of the entrance exam by the official authorities.
- In the entrance exam, applicants will have to answer a maximum of 200 questions.
- The entire paper will be 150 marks.
- The Language of the exam will be English.
- In the entrance exam question paper, applicants will be required to answer multiple-choice questions.
- For each accurate answer given in the entrance exam, the applicants will receive one mark.
- NEST Exam has a negative marking.
Note – Aspirants have to attempt all four sections but the merit list will be prepared from the top 3 sections.

NEST 2024 Syllabus
The Nest examination’s syllabus will be based on the CBSE/NCERT science syllabus, which the applicant must have studied in 11th and 12th grades. Biology, mathematics, chemistry, and physics are among the areas included in the exam syllabus. The broad component, which includes questions about historical milestones in mathematics, biology, astronomy, environment, physics, chemistry, and computer science, has no set syllabus.

NEST 2024 Exam Centers
While filling out the application form, the applicant must choose five cities from the below list based on their preferences. The NEST 2024 committee maintains the right, based on the number of candidates who choose a particular test city/town, to cancel or add any of the test cities without prior warning to applicants.
On the admit card, the address of the NEST test centre assigned to an applicant will be printed. Only this test centre should be considered final, regardless of the sequence in which test cities were chosen throughout the online application.

NEST 2024 Admission Procedure
First, the respective authority Releases Online Notifications regarding NEST 2024 then aspirants have to complete the NEST Application Process. and then for a short duration, Faculty provide a Correction chance in the Application Form. after that Admit card will be released and aspirants need to appear in the NEST Exam. then the NEST result will be declared and for final admission, Aspirants have to participate in the Counselling Process and Allotment of Seats.
NEST 2024 Application Form
Candidates interested in applying for NEST 2024 can do so online. From January onwards, the application form will be available on the official website. Before filling up their application form, candidates must read the entire guidelines.
The entire application process will be conducted entirely online, including form completion, submission, and fee payment. Applicants must fill out the application form with their personal and educational information. The form may additionally require scanned copies of the photograph and signature.
Aspirants can submit the form together with the application fee after filling out all of the required information. Aspirants must save a copy of their completed application form and save it for future reference. It is not necessary to send a hard copy of the application form to the institute’s office.
NEST 2024 Application Fee
Male candidates in the General and OBC categories must pay a fee of 1,200/–. The application fee for SC/ST/Divyangjan aspirants, as well as all women applicants, is 600/–. Payments can be done using an online payment gateway with a credit card, debit card, or net– banking. Only Mastercard, Visa, and RuPay are accepted.
NEST 2024 Admit Card
Aspirants who wish to take the entrance exam will receive the NEST 2024 Admit Card from the appropriate authorities. The NEST 2024 Admit Card will be updated by the official authorities on the NEST’s official website. To obtain the NEST 2024 Admit Card, applicants must go into the official website using their login credentials.
Aspirants must obtain a copy of the NEST 2024 Admit Card from the NEST’s official website and keep a few extra copies for future reference. The official authorities will not send the NEST 2024 Admit Card to the applicants via mail or any other means.
The candidates must bring their NEST 2024 Admit Card to the examination centre. The participants’ NEST 2024 Admit Card will be verified along with their identity evidence by the relevant authorities. The candidates will be able to attend the examination location once the verification process is completed.
NEST 2024 Answer Key
When the test is completed, the solution key for NEST 2024 is disclosed via online mode. Applicants can use the answer key to double-check the correct responses to the questions posed in the test. Furthermore, participants are able to calculate their likely test scores. The answer key is available in two versions: A and B. Students will also question the solution key if there is any discrepancy in it. Candidates must submit their roll number and date of birth in order to access the answer key.
NEST 2024 Result
The board can publish the results after the NEST 2024 entrance examination is completed. It is expected to be launched in the third week of June 2024. To view the results and transfer the scorecard, candidates must provide their User id and password. The candidate’s name, date of birth, examination date, identification number, score, rank, photograph, and qualifying status can all be included on the scorecard.
Applicants who pass the entrance exam with the required minimum score will be screened and counselled using a merit-based system. Aspirants must achieve an overall score of ninety out of one hundred eighty in order to pass the test.
NEST 2024 Cut Off
Following the announcement of the results, the NEST 2024 cut-off is made public on the internet. Students who pass the qualifying exam with flying colors are considered eligible to apply for further admission options. Both colleges has released their separate merit list for admission. NEST 2024 Counselling
When the candidates are chosen and the merit list is released, the NEST 2024 counselling process can begin. It will be performed in multiple rounds in offline mode. The document verification and seat allotment of qualifying candidates will take place at the time of counsel.
Qualified applicants will be assigned seats in various courses and establishments according to the NISER and UM-DAE-CEBS counselling methods. Applicants must come for counselling at NISER and UM-DAE-CEBS campuses one at a time during the specified time frame.
